Chinese girl travels to Pakistan to marry 16-year-old boy

BAJUR: A 21-year-old Chinese girl named Sun Gaofang traveled to Pakistan to marry 16-year-old Javed Hashmi, whom she fell in love with on Snapchat.

Local reporter Bilal Yasir told Hum News that the couple had been in contact for three years, and their affection for each other led to a desire for marriage.

Within four days of Gaofang’s arrival in Pakistan, the couple solemnized their union, and they are currently residing at Hashmi’s brother-in-law’s place in Samarbagh, in Lower Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Before tying the knot, the Chinese woman embraced Islam.

According to the documents, Javed Hashmi’s date of birth is January 1, 2007 whereas the Chinese girl’s date of birth is September 3, 2002.

As per the Chinese woman’s visa, a copy of which is available with Hum News, her visa is valid from July 13 to October 12, 2023, and she intends to take Hashmi to China.

Earlier, Anju, an Indian woman, married Nasrullah, a Pakistani youth, at a local mosque in Dir Bala in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after converting to Islam.

As per local police sources, the marriage took place at the district and sessions judge’s court. After the ceremony, the Indian woman was safely escorted to her home under police protection.
