ASI Shahid’s killers apprehended in Islamabad

LAHORE: The suspects who were involved in the killing of policeman ASI Muhammad Shahid have been arrested from Islamabad. ASI Shahid was allegedly attacked by some lawyers in Mozang area of Lahore outside s special court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Following the attack, he was shifted to hospital where he could not sustain the fatal injuries.

Assistant sub-inspectors Muhammad Shahid and Jamil from were conducting a raid on Tuesday to arrest an absconding suspect, Adeel, who was involved a bounced cheque case. However, the lawyers of the suspects along with their aides attacked the police officials which resulted in ASI Shahid receiving severe injuries. According to the DIG operations, the suspects fled the scene and went into hiding, and a special team was formed to apprehend them.

Requesting a report of the incident, IGP Dr Usman Anwar had ordered the DIG Operations to ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.
