LAHORE: Punjab’s Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has disclosed that the interim governent received offers of 10 million dollars and 5 million dollars during tenders of electric buses but “our integrity remained unshaken and it was refused”.
Addressing the farewell session of the caretaker provincial cabinet, he said that the caretaker cabinet worked day and night and carried out record development work in a short time.
He said that the caretaker government discouraged nepotism culture. He said that the interim government received offers of Rs200 million for posting of single XEN.
He said that the caretaker cabinet members did not take any salary during this period, neither they transferred any commissioner or regional police officer in 13 months.
“This bureaucracy is cooperative and instrumental in achieving success,” he said.
“My two advisers and eight ministers remained steadfast in their commitment, working tirelessly day and night. No one can point a finger at anyone for malpractice,” he said.
Throughout this period, the caretaker cabinet refrained from accepting any remuneration, and no commissioner or RPO was replaced during the 13-month tenure. “Dr Usman and Zahid have been invaluable allies,” he said, underlining their steadfastness in their roles.
“The deputy commissioners and assistant deputy commissioners were also minimally transferred, ensuring stability. Despite facing various challenges, the entire staff at the CM House showed unwavering dedication to their duties,” he said.
