The media reports said that the incident was officially recorded on the evening of August 1 at the Sharae Faisal police station, with Asgar herself submitting the complaint.
In her petition, the Meer Abru actress said that an unidentified man stalked her from a nearby marketplace to her home on Rashid Minhas Road, approximately at 10:50 pm.
According to her statement, the unknown man catcalled her and pursued her until her doorstep, where the situation escalated into a physical assault that resulted in the tearing of her clothes.
As per the media reports, in her formal statement, Asgar said she promptly signaled her husband, Omar Murtaza, who swiftly intervened.
She said that she immediately ran inside her house while neighbours gathered and after some inquiry, they learnt that the perpetrator’s name was Asim, and presented him to the police for arrest.
Taking to her Instagram account, Srha Asgar shared a post on Friday, expressing her desire for media outlets to desist from soliciting interviews with her and her spouse.
“I implore all members of the media to refrain from contacting me regarding the incident. It is disheartening that they persistently reach out to us for interviews, seemingly for the sake of their ratings. Furthermore, I condemn the news channel that divulged our personal information in conjunction with the incident. We are grateful to report that we are safe,” she wrote.
