Azerbaijan Ambassador visits HUM Network HQ in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Khazar Farhadov, accompanied by his wife, Tarana Farhadova, and the Second Secretary, Behbud Gadali, paid a courtesy visit to the headquarters of HUM Network Limited in Islamabad.

The distinguished guests were warmly received by the management of HUM Network. During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the operational framework of HUM Network, its diverse media platforms, and its significant contribution to Pakistan’s media industry.

The Ambassador commended HUM Network’s role in promoting progressive content and particularly appreciated its commitment to empowering women in media. He further highlighted the importance of enhancing media cooperation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan as a means to strengthen cultural and bilateral ties.

The visit concluded with an expression of mutual goodwill and a shared commitment to deepening collaboration between the two brotherly nations through media and cultural exchange.

PM Sharif lauds peace deal between Aremenia and Azerbaijan

In an earlier geopolitical development in August, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev on the peace deal with Armenia that ended a decades-old conflict. In a phone call, PM Shehbaz lauded Aliyev’s “bold and wise leadership” for bringing stability and opening a new era of development in the Caucasus.

He also praised former US president Donald Trump for his role in facilitating the agreement. Aliyev, in turn, thanked Pakistan for its consistent support in the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute, recalling Islamabad’s solidarity during military confrontations with Armenia. Shehbaz invited Aliyev to visit Pakistan, while the two leaders are also expected to meet at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit on August 31.

Highlighting the growing ties between the two countries, it was also noted that Pakistan’s focus on strengthening links with Central Asian states. Azerbaijan, alongside Turkiye and China, had openly backed Pakistan during its recent conflict with India, a gesture the premier called “unwavering support.”
