PARIS: Fans of the deceased 20th-century global icon Brigitte Bardot rushed to lay wreaths in memory of the European film industry figure, with some searching to confirm whether the global icon will be buried here.

According to reports, the 91-year-old global figure will be buried in her villa in Saint-Tropez. However, what remains to be confirmed is the day on which the activist will be buried.

She had said she wished instead to be buried in her garden with a simple wooden cross to mark her grave, reports said.

The global cultural icon, known for “And God Created Woman,” died at the age of 91 and was the founder of a foundation called Fondation Brigitte Bardot, established in 1986.

She gained her first sight in the eyes of the public when her photo was featured on an entertainment magazine that went viral in the country in the 1950s.
