ISLAMABAD: The forthcoming week weather update promises an enduring spell of cold and dry weather nationwide.

However, certain regions in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Upper Sindh are set to grapple with lingering smog and fog.

No Reprieve in Sight

 Those anticipating a respite in the form of rainfall will find their hopes dashed, as the Department of Meteorology asserts that rain is not on the horizon for the next week. This chilly and arid trend is anticipated to extend beyond Punjab, KP, and Upper Sindh, enveloping other provinces, including the federal capital Islamabad.

Murree, Guliyat, and surrounding areas, is poised to experience sustained cold and dry weather.

Smog, Fog Outlook

Lahore remains to top the list of world’s most polluted city with an overall AQI of 204.Shahrah -e-Quaid Azam was the most polluted area of Lahore with an AQI of above 400.

Weather smog update: Districts including Narowal, Sialkot, Okara, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, and Lahore in Punjab are expected to grapple with persisting fog and smog, contributing to reduced visibility.

Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khanewal, Multan, and Bahawalpur are slated to witness foggy conditions, while Khanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Dera Ghazi Khan are set to endure dry weather, according to the latest forecasts from the Meteorological Department.

According to weather smog update in Sindh, a hazy atmosphere is predicted to persist in Mohenjodaro, Sukkur, Larkana, Dadu, Ghotki, and Padaidan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Cold Embrace

Today in Swat City, the weather will be good. Temperatures will vary between 10 and 18°C.

The cities of Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to remain shrouded in a cold ambiance, as the winter chill maintains its grip on the province.
