Tristan Jarry and Spencer Stastney traded to Oilers

EDMONTON: The Edmonton Oilers have completed two long-rumoured trades, acquiring goaltender Tristan Jarry from the Pittsburgh Penguins and defenseman Spencer Stastney from the Nashville Predators.

Both deals were finalized on Friday.

In the first trade, Edmonton acquired Tristan Jarry and forward Sam Poulin from Pittsburgh in exchange for Stuart Skinner, Brett Kulak, and a 2029 second-round pick.

In a separate deal with Nashville, the Oilers added defenseman Spencer Stastney in exchange for a 2027 third-round draft pick.

The moves allow the Oilers to replace Kulak on the blue line at a relatively low cost while also making a significant change in goal—something that has been widely speculated for weeks. Edmonton had been linked to Jarry for some time but had previously been unable to finalize an agreement. That speculation has now come to an end.

Jarry, a Canadian professional goaltender, had been playing for the Penguins since being selected in the second round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Stastney, an American defenseman, played college hockey at Notre Dame before joining the Predators organization.
