Travel advisory issued for Iran, Pakistani citizens urged to be cautious

WEB DESK: The Government of Pakistan has issued a travel advisory for its citizens regarding Iran, urging them to avoid non-essential travel due to the current volatile situation in the country.

Pakistani nationals already in Iran have been advised to exercise extreme caution, limit their movements, and remain vigilant until the situation stabilises. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that travelers should defer any unnecessary trips to Iran and follow safety protocols while in the country.

In case of emergencies, Pakistanis in Iran are encouraged to contact the Pakistani diplomatic mission, which has established a Crisis Management Unit to provide 24/7 assistance. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tehran, Mudassir Tipu, said citizens can reach out via designated contact numbers and landlines to receive prompt support if needed.

The advisory comes amid escalating unrest in Iran, with reports of casualties and disruptions to internet services. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the government is closely monitoring developments and taking necessary measures to ensure the safety of Pakistani citizens abroad.
