ISLAMABAD: Indian media has claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has included Scotland in the T20 World Cup in place of Bangladesh after rejecting a request to change Bangladesh’s venue.
The Indian media, citing sources, said that the ICC turned down Bangladesh’s demand to shift its T20 World Cup venue from India to Sri Lanka.
The reports further claimed that the ICC has decided to replace Bangladesh with Scotland and is expected to issue an official statement in this regard soon.
Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had written another letter to the ICC over the T20 World Cup issue.
A private Indian TV channel, quoting sources, reported that the BCB asked the ICC to refer the matter to its Independent Dispute Resolution Committee regarding participation in the tournament and Bangladesh’s decision not to travel to India.
The sources said that in light of the previous day’s decision, the BCB again contacted the ICC, maintaining its stance of not sending the team to India, while requesting that Bangladesh’s matches be relocated instead.
