Struggling to get an M-tag for your car? Here’s a quick way to beat the deadline

Islamabad e-tags

ISLAMABAD: Motorists in Islamabad can now get their M-Tag for vehicles in just a few minutes, as authorities work to ensure full implementation before the upcoming deadline.

With less than 15 days remaining after the recent extension, vehicle owners are being urged to complete M-Tag registration promptly to avoid last-minute congestion at toll plazas.

Officials say the process is simple, requiring only two documents: the vehicle registration card (or book) and the owner’s National Identity Card (CNIC). No additional forms, photocopies, or files are needed. If both documents are valid, the M-Tag is issued on the spot. Citizens missing any required document will need to return with the correct paperwork.

To make the process more convenient, 15 M-Tag registration centers have been set up across Islamabad by One Network, allowing vehicle owners to register near their homes or along travel routes. The centers aim to provide timely access and ensure as many motorists as possible are equipped with the tag before the deadline.

Authorities warned that vehicles without M-Tags on motorways and toll roads after the deadline may face difficulties, reiterating the importance of early registration. Citizens can contact the 1313 helpline for details on working hours, center locations, or other information related to M-Tags.

Officials noted that timely registration will not only streamline the traffic system but also reduce rush and delays at toll plazas.
