Spotify Wrapped 2025: When it drops and when your streams stop counting

As the year winds down, Spotify users start waiting for the moment their feeds fill with Wrapped posts. The annual feature highlights your most played songs, artists and genres, and has become one of the biggest social media moments each December. Apple Music Replay arrives around the same time, giving listeners across both platforms a snapshot of their year in music.

Last year, Spotify Wrapped dropped on 4 December, one day after Apple Music Replay. In 2024, Taylor Swift topped Spotify’s global charts with more than 26.6 billion streams, while Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso became the most streamed song worldwide. Other major artists included Bad Bunny and The Weeknd, while Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us dominated Apple Music.

This year’s biggest music moments include new albums from Swift and Lady Gaga, the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack and viral hits from all-girl group Katseye, whose songs Gabriela and Gnarly have surged in popularity.

When will Spotify Wrapped 2025 be released?

Spotify has not confirmed the launch date for Wrapped 2025, but previous years show it typically arrives in late November or early December:

• 2021: 1 December
• 2020: 1 December
• 2019: 5 December
• 2018: 6 December

Based on this timeline, Wrapped is likely to arrive in the first week of December.

When does Spotify Wrapped stop counting your music?

Spotify does not publicly confirm its cut-off date, but the company has previously said it collects data “up until a few weeks before we launch the Wrapped product”. Spotify has previously said it continues tracking past Halloween, which means early December listening, including Christmas playlists, is usually not included.

How to get your Spotify Wrapped

Wrapped 2024 launched with features such as Your Music Evolution, Your Top Artist Reimagined and AI DJ. To be ready for Wrapped this year, you will need:

• A Spotify account
• A listening history with a few hours of music and podcasts
• An updated version of the Spotify app

What is Apple Music Replay?

Apple Music Replay offers a similar year-end breakdown for Apple Music users. Monthly summaries are available through October, but Replay 2025 has not yet been released. In previous years, it launched in late November or early December.

Apple recently named Tyler, The Creator as its Artist of the Year for 2025, recognising his impact on music and culture. In 2024, the honour went to Billie Eilish.
