SL VS ENG ODI: Kusal Mendis shines with unbeaten 93 as Lions post 291 massive

COLOMBO: The SL VS ENG first ODI match saw unbeaten Kusal Mendis scoring 93 off 117, as the Men in Blue posted 271-run massive in the series opener here today.

The in-form Kusal took advantage of the momentum that the SL’s top-notch batters created as they opened the SL VS ENG series today. Sri Lanka began their innings by sending Pathum Nissanka and Kamil Mishara in the opening, with the position-1 batter scoring 21 off 30 balls before allowing the shining batter of the side.

With Mishara being downed for 27, Kusal played havoc while approaching this unbeaten 93-digit, featuring his supportive batting with 11 boundaries.

His composed batting had already gained enough energy when the bowlers of the opponents tried to contain the home team batters.

During their fielding, spinner Adil Rashid remained a good batter, picking up three, while Sam Curran and Rehan Ahmed, as well as Liam Dawson, took one each.
