Six missing after boat capsizes in Khairpur

KHAIRPUR: At least six people went missing while five were saved after a boat capsized in Khairpur on Monday.

The boat carrying 11 people capsized near Nara while police and rescue teams launched rescue operation and saved five people.

According to the rescue sources, the search for the remaining six individuals was ongoing.

Local residents said that the people on board the boat were going to a nearby village to participate in a wedding when the boat suddenly capsized near the riverbank.

All the individuals on the boat were residents of the Goth Jamaluddin area. The missing individuals included Raja, Bukhsh Ali, Dado Ma’ruf, Saleh Al, and others.

On the other hand, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has taken notice of the incident and has directed that all resources be utilized in the search for the missing individuals and that every possible assistance be provided to the affected individuals.
