ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed seven terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Kulachi in Dera Ismail Khan, while one soldier was martyred in an exchange of fire.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the operation on December 15 after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian-sponsored proxy outfit Fitna al-Khawarij.
The ISPR said that during the operation, security forces effectively targeted the terrorists’ hideout.
Following an intense exchange of fire, seven Khawarij were killed.
However, during the firefight, Lance Naik Yasar Khan embraced martyrdom while putting up a valiant resistance against the enemy, the military’s media wing said.
The ISPR said that weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain Indian-sponsored terrorists, who were involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
A clearance and sanitisation operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored Khawarij in the region.
The statement further said that security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue their uninterrupted counterterrorism campaign with full force under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam as approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan to completely eradicate the menace of foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
