‘Scary Movie’ actress and bodybuilder Jayne Trcka dies aged 62

Jayne Trcka, a bodybuilder and actress best known for her role as Miss Mann in Scary Movie, has died at the age of 62.

Trcka passed away on December 12 in San Diego, according to her son. The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed her death, with the cause currently listed as pending.

Law enforcement sources said a friend became concerned after being unable to reach Trcka for several days and went to her home to check on her welfare. She was found unresponsive in the kitchen, and first responders later pronounced her dead at the scene.

Her son said he was not aware of any illness or medical condition that may have contributed to her death.

Trcka rose to prominence in the bodybuilding world during the 1980s before transitioning into acting. She made her screen debut in 2000 with Scary Movie, where her performance as the no-nonsense gym teacher Miss Mann became one of the film’s most memorable moments.

Following the film’s success, she went on to make appearances in television shows including The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Outside of acting, she also worked as a real estate agent in California.

Trcka was widely featured in fitness publications throughout her career, appearing in magazines such as Flex, MuscleMag International and Women’s Physique World, where she was celebrated for her athletic physique and dedication to the sport.

She is remembered for breaking into mainstream entertainment from the bodybuilding world and for leaving a lasting impression with a small but iconic film role.
