SC disposes of 56% cases in CJP Qazi Faez Isa’s first three days

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan has disposed of 56 per cent of cases in the first three days since Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa assumed charge of office.

Between September 19 and 21, the Supreme Court’s five benches resolved 174 out of the 313 cases scheduled for hearings.

Justice Sardar Tariq’s bench resolved the most cases, with 70 out of 87. Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s bench handled 49 cases and decided 23. Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan’s bench had 54 cases, and 25 were resolved. Justice Yahya Afridi’s bench tackled 75 cases, with 35 resolved. Justice Jamal Mandokhel’s bench handled 48 cases and resolved 22 of them.

Interim Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir also attended the oath-taking ceremony.

Chief Justice Isa was appointed as a Supreme Court Justice on September 5, 2014. He will serve as the chief justice until Oct 25, 2024.
