Rain brings back chilly cold weather in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: After a brief respite from the winter chill, Islamabad experienced a return of cold weather as rain lashed the capital city and its adjoining areas.
The downpour brought with it a drop in temperatures, sending residents reaching for their warm clothing once again.
The Met Office predicted more rain and snowfall in upper parts of the country.
According to the Met Official, a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to strengthen and continue till Feb 21.
Heavy rain-wind/thunderstorm with snow may cause closure of roads in Murree, Galiyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Astore, Hunza, Diamer, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Havellian till February 20.
There is also the possibility of landslides in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Cloudy weather with rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, KP, Potohar region, Islamabad, Punjab and northern Balochistan.
The sudden change in weather caught many off guard, with some welcoming the refreshing rain while others grumbled about the return of chilly conditions.
As temperatures plummeted, Islamabad’s iconic landmarks were enveloped in mist, adding a picturesque charm to the cityscape.
The cold snap served as a reminder that winter still has its grip firmly on the capital, urging residents to brace themselves for more chilly days ahead.
With the arrival of rain, Islamabad’s residents are reminded to take precautions against the cold weather, ensuring they stay warm and dry to avoid falling ill.
