PTI to hold intra-party elections next month

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has unveiled its plans to conduct intra-party elections on March 3, marking a pivotal moment in the party’s democratic process.

As per the schedule released by PTI, several key dates have been outlined to facilitate a smooth electoral process.

Nomination papers for the PTI intra-party elections are set to be accepted on February 23 and 24, providing aspiring candidates with an opportunity to officially enter the electoral race.

Following this, scrutiny of the nomination papers will take place on February 25, ensuring transparency and adherence to electoral regulations.

Decisions regarding the acceptance of nomination papers will be finalized by February 27, paving the way for the official candidates to contest in the upcoming elections.

On March 3, polling will take place across all four provincial secretariats, along with the central polling office, as PTI members cast their votes to elect their representatives.

Barrister Gohar, Omar Ayub not to join Sunni Ittehad Council

Meanwhile according to PTI leader and lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat Omar Ayub, Barrister Gohar and others have not joined the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) owing to the PTI’s intra-party election.

“We have to activate and make our party functional,” talking to media outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), Marwat said.

“I am advising the PTI workers to participate in party election. I will support those who want to contest from our platform,” PTI leader said.

He said Omar Ayub, Barrister Gohar and others have not joined the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) owing to the PTI’s intra-party election.

“Political parties have stolen our mandate with facilitation from the election commission and the ROs,” PTI firebrand Sher Afzal Marwat alleged. “Our battle will continue within and outside the Parliament,” he said.
