ISLAMABAD: As part of ongoing efforts to ensure the quality of cricket in Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) began its auction to bid for two additional teams for the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the due process taking place here in the afternoon.
Wasim Akram, the legendary former Pakistan fast bowler, has been picked as the ambassador for the 11th edition of the PSL. Known as the “Sultan of Swing,” Wasim Akram’s association with PSL adds immense prestige and excitement to the tournament. His vast experience, iconic status in world cricket, and deep connection with Pakistani fans make him an ideal choice to represent the league. As ambassador, he is expected to promote the spirit of the PSL, inspire young cricketers, and further enhance the league’s global profile ahead of another thrilling season.
The auction will mark a major milestone for the league, which will expand from six to eight teams starting from its eleventh season (PSL 11). The process will commence with the announcement of a reserve price, after which bidding will open to ten pre-qualified corporate contenders.
