POORSTACY: Travis Barker collaborator and rising rapper dies at 26

Rapper POORSTACY has died at the age of 26 after suffering a medical emergency in Florida, according to local authorities.
The artist, whose legal name was Carlito Milfort, died early on Saturday morning, the Boca Raton Police Department said. His death was later confirmed by the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner. An official cause has not yet been released.
A hotel employee in Boca Raton told investigators that POORSTACY experienced a medical emergency before being taken to a nearby hospital. He had reportedly been staying at the hotel for 10 days with a woman and a toddler. No one else required medical attention.
Born in Palm Beach, POORSTACY was known for blending emo, punk and hip-hop, earning a loyal fan base and the attention of major artists. He frequently collaborated with Blink-182 drummer and producer Travis Barker, and also worked closely with Bring Me the Horizon frontman Oli Sykes. In a 2021 interview with Revolver, he described Sykes as a mentor and friend, recalling how the musician sent him handwritten letters and played video games with him late into the night.
POORSTACY appeared on the Grammy-nominated Bill & Ted Face the Music soundtrack and released two studio albums and two EPs by the age of 26.
