Petrol price cut by up to Rs10.28 ahead of New Year

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday announced a reduction in petroleum product prices by up to Rs10.28 per litre, terming it a New Year relief for the public.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs10.28 per litre, bringing the new price to Rs253.17 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has been slashed by Rs8.57 per litre. The new price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs257.08 per litre.

The notification stated that the revised prices will come into effect from midnight tonight and will remain applicable until January 15.

The potential reduction is being closely watched by the public, as fuel prices directly impact transportation costs and the prices of essential commodities across the country.
