Overseas Pakistanis send $3.6 billion home in December

ISLAMABAD: Overseas Pakistanis remitted $3.6 billion to the country in December 2025, with the largest share coming from Saudi Arabia.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan, workers’ remittances recorded a year-on-year increase of 16.5 per cent and a month-on-month rise of 12.6 per cent.
During the first six months of fiscal year 2026, total remittances reached $19.7 billion, reflecting an increase of 10.6 per cent, compared with $17.8 billion received during the same period last year.
In December 2025, the highest inflows were received from Saudi Arabia, amounting to $813.1 million. Remittances from the United Arab Emirates stood at $726.1 million, followed by $559.7 million from the United Kingdom and $301.7 million from the United States.
