Most Pakistanis favour death penalty: survey

ISLAMABAD: According to a recent survey, the majority of Pakistanis support the implementation of the death penalty law.

A new survey conducted by Gilgit-Pakistan gathered the opinions of the Pakistani public regarding the death penalty. The results revealed that 45 per cent of Pakistanis are in full support of the death penalty law.

These individuals believe that applying the death penalty to criminals involved in serious crimes is justified.

On the other hand, 39 per cent of the respondents expressed opposition to the death penalty, stating that taking someone’s life is wrong under any circumstances.

Additionally, 11 per cent of the surveyed Pakistanis took a neutral stance on the issue of giving criminals the death penalty, neither explicitly supporting nor opposing it. Meanwhile, 5% of individuals did not respond to this question.
