WEB DESK: The petition filed by Martyrs Forum Balochistan regarding terrorists and anarchists in military courts has been scheduled for hearing.

According to the details, the petition has been filed against the judgment of the Honorable Supreme Court regarding trial of civilians in Military Courts. The petition gave reference to the unfortunate incidents that took place on May 9 and 10 and “riotous, inflammatory and miscreant mobs disguised as political activists incited people and incited hatred”.

According to the petition, these people mocked the armed forces and law enforcement agencies. “They stormed the military buildings and the offices of sensitive institutions, erected obstacles in the cantonment routes,” the petition argued, adding, “Stones and sticks were pelted on armed forces personnel, military installations were attacked, government properties were besieged, martyrs’ memorials were vandalised and desecrated”.

Senate passed a resolution against the decision of the Supreme Court declaring the military trial illegal. The petition said that the perpetrators of May 9 had crossed many “red lines”. A number of monuments were vandalised and desecrated in an attempt to inflame the treasonous feelings of these gangsters and lead to some kind of spontaneous uprising. The relatives and families of these martyrs suffered from torture.

The petition also pleads that the decision not to try those involved in these acts of hooliganism in military courts has disturbed the appellants and other conscientious citizens of the country. Any leniency towards these criminals and miscreants will hurt the confidence of the armed forces in general and their families in particular.

According to the petition, “if a state is unable to protect its defense works, honor its martyrs, how will it inculcate the spirit of sacrifice in its soldiers in the future”. The petition said that in order to bring such criminals to justice and to punish them for their unfathomable and highly criminal acts, the State should refer some of the cases to the Military Courts under the relevant provisions of the Pakistan Army Act.
