Country duo Maddie and Tae have confirmed they are stepping away from their long-running partnership after 15 years together, though both insist it is not a permanent breakup.

The chart-topping pair, made up of Maddie Marlow Font and Tae Dye Kerr, revealed they are pursuing different paths as Kerr shifts her focus to family life while Font prepares to launch a solo career.

Kerr, who is married to Grammy-winning songwriter Josh Kerr, said her priority is now raising their two children. Font, meanwhile, plans to continue performing and recording as she balances motherhood with the next phase of her career.

Despite going their separate ways professionally, both stressed their personal bond remains unchanged. They described the move as open-ended, leaving the door open for a possible reunion in the future.

The duo first met at 15 and rose to fame with their breakout hit “Girl in a Country Song” in 2014. They later found major success with “Die from a Broken Heart”, alongside multiple award nominations and sold-out tours.

Their final scheduled shows will run through mid-June, though they are avoiding calling it a farewell tour.
