Lahore encroachments

LAHORE: The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has issued a 15-day ultimatum to encroachers and vendors to voluntarily remove their illegal structures from roads.

The MCL has set a deadline of 15 days for the removal of encroachments, after which an anti-encroachment operation will be carried out on 27 major roads of Lahore.

The MCL administrator, Rafia Haider, said that the special campaign will be launched on the directive of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, who has instructed the authorities to clear the city of encroachments and ensure smooth traffic flow.

She said that the MCL regulation department has completed the marking of all the roads, and advised vendors to do business within the specified limits, so as not to cause traffic problems.

She warned that strict action would be taken against those who violated the rules.
