KARACHI: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) staged protests in Karachi over alleged rigging in the general election of 2024, which took place on February 8.

Police resorted to firing tear gas and baton-charging protesters along Karachi’s Sharea Faisal thoroughfare as JUI-F demonstrators attempted to reach the Karachi Press Club, where the party had organised a sit-in to protest against alleged rigging.

JUI-F Sindh General Secretary Rashid Mehmood Soomro while talking to Geo News stated that the police halted their peaceful procession in various areas of Karachi without any legal notice or order.
