Journalist trolled for comparing Maryam and UAE minister

ISLAMABAD: Social media is trolling Journalist Saif Awan for his recent post on ‘X,’ where he claimed that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for International Cooperation, Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, imitates the style of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Organiser, Maryam Nawaz.

“Reem bint Ebrahim minister of international cooperation UAE copy Maryam Nawaz style,” wrote the journalist while sharing the video of the UAE minister from a United Nations General Assembly address.

The journalist is being trolled on social media for drawing the comparison.

Who is Reem Bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy?

According to the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arab Eamrtites Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy assumed her role in the UAE Cabinet as a Minister of State in February 2008. In February 2016, she was sworn in as the Minister of State for International Cooperation within the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Before this appointment, Reem played a key role in leading the UAE’s successful bid to host World Expo 2020 in Dubai. She also served as the Managing Director of Expo 2020 Dubai, and subsequently, she took on the position of CEO at Expo City Dubai Authority, working under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum. Additionally, Reem is responsible for managing the Vice President’s Office for Political Affairs.
