Jeff Garcia dies at 50: everything we know so far about the ‘Jimmy Neutron’ actor’s passing

Jeff Garcia, the comedian and voice actor behind Sheen in the Jimmy Neutron franchise, has died at the age of 50.

His son, Jojo Garcia, confirmed the news in a statement on Instagram on Wednesday, sharing family photos and describing his father as “a unique soul” whose humour and heart “made an impact on people’s lives internationally”.

Jojo added that the family was grieving and requested privacy.

Garcia’s Jimmy Neutron co-star Debi Derryberry also paid tribute, saying she was “devastated” by the news and calling him “the funniest man in the room”.

Garcia’s cause of death has not been officially confirmed. US outlets reported that he had been hospitalised on 8 December with breathing difficulties, and that his lung collapsed the following day. He had reportedly suffered a brain aneurysm earlier this year and a stroke several weeks ago.

Garcia first voiced Sheen in the 2001 film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, returning for the hit Nickelodeon series and later leading the spinoff Planet Sheen. His other credits included BarnyardBack at the BarnyardHappy FeetRio and the sitcom Mr Box Office. He was also a long-time stand-up comedian.
