Irfan Qadir appointed President’s legal consultant

ISLAMABAD: Senior lawyer Irfan Qadir has been appointed as a legal consultant to the president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.
According to a notification, Qadir has been appointed for a two-year contract.
Qadir began his legal career in 1982 and has served on several key posts. He is known for his firebrand style of arguing in courts.

He served as a judge of the Lahore High Court in 2009 and as Pakistan’s attorney general under Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani. President Asif Zardari was also in office at that time.
Qadir also worked as a special assistant to PM Shehbaz Sharif in the latter’s first term in office in 2022.
He has had considerable international exposure having represented Pakistan in large number of seminars and workshops in important forums in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.
