Iran warns US over potential retaliation amid rising tensions; Israel issues alert

Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that any military action against Tehran could prompt retaliation targeting US and Israeli military installations in the region.

The warning was delivered by Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf during a session of parliament. He said that Iran would respond decisively if the US were to engage in any form of attack, and that American bases, as well as Israeli facilities in the region, could be considered legitimate targets.

Meanwhile, Israel has heightened its security posture amid fears that the US might become involved in Iran’s ongoing nationwide protest movement. Israeli security agencies are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, tracking any developments that could affect regional stability.

The alert comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East and a marked deterioration in US-Iran relations. Recent days have seen US President Donald Trump warning Iranian authorities against using force against protesters, with discussions between the Israeli Prime Minister and the US Secretary of State also reportedly addressing the possibility of intervention.

The situation underscores growing anxieties in the region, with both Israel and the US closely watching Iran’s domestic unrest and Tehran signaling that any external involvement could trigger a significant military response.

During ongoing nationwide protests in Iran, at least 30 security and police personnel have been killed in Isfahan province, while a member of the Iranian Red Crescent was killed in an attack on a relief building in the northern city of Gorgan, according to Iranian media. The overall death toll from the unrest has risen to 116, and more than 2,600 people have been arrested across the country, US-based rights groups report.
