ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has started receiving nomination papers for intra-party elections.

According to a press release issued by the party’s media cell, PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s nominated candidate for chairmanship Barrister Gohar Ali Khan submitted his nomination papers on Friday.

The nomination papers were received by Returning Officer, Sardar Masroof Khan.

Senior central leader Ahmed Owais is the recommended candidates of Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

Central Information Secretary Rauf Hassan is the nominated candidate of Barrister Gauhar Ali Khan for the slot of the chairmanship.

PTI Chief Election Commissioner Niazullah Niazi advocate was also present.

The PTI decided to hold intra-party elections after the Election Commission of Pakistan declared the previous polls null and void due to lack of transparency.

The ECP ordered the PTI to conduct new elections within 20 days to retain its “bat” symbol for the upcoming general elections123.
