LAHORE: An HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) auction workshop was held at Gaddafi Stadium, where stakeholders were given a detailed briefing on the players’ auction process ahead of the upcoming season.

The workshop was attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who stressed that all franchises would be provided with a level playing field during the auction. He underlined the PCB’s commitment to transparency and fairness in the player selection process.

PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer presented an in-depth overview of the auction framework, explaining the procedures, timelines, and key regulations governing the players’ auction. The session also covered franchise player retention rules, with detailed consultations held on the number of players each franchise would be allowed to retain.

During the workshop, franchise officials and players shared their suggestions and feedback regarding the auction process, contributing to a collaborative discussion aimed at improving the system. Senior PCB officials, including the Chief Financial Officer and Directors of International Cricket, were also present.

The workshop was described as a constructive step toward ensuring a smooth and competitive auction process, as the PCB continues preparations for the next edition of the HBL PSL.

The HBL PSL 11 is shaping up to be bigger and more exciting than ever. According to PSL policy, domestic teams have the option to retain players who represented them in the previous edition, but only up to a maximum of four players per team.

This season, the player categories remain structured to ensure a balanced and competitive draft.

Platinum

The draft included Platinum as a category for top-tier players with the highest base prices.

Diamond

Players who are the high-value stars just below Platinum are being put here under Diamond category of the edition’s draft.

Gold

The Gold category is for the mid-tier players.

Silver

Silver for squad-depth players with solid experience in the cricket competition.

Emerging

Emerging category is being given to young local talent.

Supplementary

Supplementary for backup or replacement players.

As the draft for the PSL 11th edition has taken shape here today, fans are particularly excited this year because the league will expand from six to eight teams, offering opportunities for more talented players to showcase their skills on the big stage.

Cricket enthusiasts across Pakistan are eagerly awaiting the squads, passionately supporting their city teams, and anticipating a thrilling season that promises to be bigger, better, and more competitive than ever before.
