Gold prices surge in Pakistan amid global market gains

KARACHI: Gold prices rose sharply in Pakistan on Friday, in line with gains in the international bullion market.

In the local market, the price of 24-carat gold per tola increased by Rs3,400 to Rs469,562, while the price of 10 grams rose by Rs2,915 to Rs402,573.

Silver prices also moved up in the domestic market, with the per tola rate increasing by Rs70 to Rs8,195, and the price of 10 grams rising by Rs60 to Rs7,025.

Meanwhile, in the international bullion market, gold prices climbed by $34 per ounce, taking the global rate to $4,472 per ounce.

It may be noted that gold prices had declined in both international and local markets a day earlier.
