KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged again on Saturday, making the precious metal increasingly unaffordable for the general public.
In local bullion markets, the price of 24-carat gold per tola increased by Rs3,700 to reach Rs472,262, while per 10 grams, gold rose by Rs3,172 to Rs 405,745.
Silver prices also climbed, with per tola silver rising Rs 270 to Rs 8,465 and per 10 grams increasing by Rs 232 to Rs 7,257.
The rise in domestic prices follows gains in the international bullion market, where gold per ounce increased by $37 to $4,509.
Analysts said the trend reflects global market pressures as well as local demand factors.
