Gang linked to TTP apprehended in significant breakthrough

ISLAMABAD: In a significant development, law enforcement agencies have successfully apprehended members of a gang operating on behalf of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

This gang was primarily involved in the collection of extortion funds on behalf of the TTP.

The breakthrough came as a result of a tip-off received by the law enforcement agencies.

The arrested individuals have revealed shocking details about their involvement in the extortion activities for the TTP and have disclosed crucial information about their extortion operations.

These arrested individuals have been providing substantial support to the TTP in various extortion activities over an extended period.

Furthermore, the suspects have confirmed the presence of TTP commanders in Afghanistan. According to one of the arrested accused, “TTP commander Abdul Raziq, who is currently located in Afghanistan, used to communicate with us through WhatsApp.”

The arrested accused went on to state, “TTP commander Abdul Razaq used to contact individuals in Pakistan, sending videos of their residences and businesses as part of the extortion scheme,” adding, “He would issue threats of violence or abduction in case of delayed payments.”

Law enforcement agencies are taking rigorous measures to ensure the safety of the public.

Security forces have been making consistent progress in dismantling the TTP leadership group and disrupting the activities of the extortion network.
