Former Pakistan fast bowler Ehsan Adil has launched an exciting new phase of his cricket journey, earning selection in the United States men’s national team ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The 32-year-old pacer, who previously represented Pakistan at the highest level, has reportedly been named in the USA squad set to compete in the global tournament. While USA Cricket is yet to make a formal announcement, multiple reports suggest the World Cup squad has already been finalised.

As part of their build-up, the United States are expected to tour Sri Lanka with an 18-member squad for a five-match T20 series against Sri Lanka A. Adil is understood to be among the players selected for the tour, which will serve as a key preparation phase.

Senior cricket journalist Peter Della Pena has indicated that this touring squad is likely to form the core group for the T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held from 7 February to 8 March 2026. The tournament will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Adil made his international debut for Pakistan in a Test match against South Africa at Centurion in February 2013. Between 2013 and 2015, he featured in three Tests and six One-Day Internationals, claiming five Test wickets and four in ODIs.

A product of Pakistan’s Under-19 system, Adil also represented his country at the Under-19 World Cup in Australia. He went on to build an impressive domestic career, picking up 245 wickets in 67 first-class matches, along with 98 List A wickets and 86 wickets in T20 cricket.

He was part of Pakistan’s squad for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, with his final international appearance coming in the quarter-final defeat to Australia in Adelaide.

Now wearing new colours, Adil will be hoping his experience and pace can help the USA make an impact on the world stage in 2026.
