Field Marshal Asim Munir reviews combat readiness during visit to Gujranwala, Sialkot garrisons

WEB DESK: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), visited the Gujranwala and Sialkot garrisons on Friday, where he reviewed operational preparedness and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening combat readiness.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief was briefed on the formations’ operational readiness and key measures being undertaken to enhance training and combat effectiveness. During the visit, Field Marshal Munir observed a field training exercise and inspected an advanced simulator training facility.

He praised the formations for maintaining high professional standards and a strong state of readiness. Emphasising the need for technological adaptability, the COAS and CDF said modern warfare requires agility, precision, enhanced situational awareness and rapid decision-making.

Interacting with officers and soldiers, Field Marshal Munir commended their high morale and unwavering commitment to national security. He stressed the importance of rigorous, mission-oriented training, reaffirming that the Pakistan Army remains fully focused on addressing both internal and external challenges.

He also highlighted the army’s resolve to counter hostile hybrid campaigns, extremist ideologies and divisive elements aimed at undermining national stability.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Gujranwala, Field Marshal Munir was received by the Corps Commander Gujranwala.
