Epstein files case: Bill Clinton fires back at White House after release of new photos

Epstein files case

WASHINGTON: Former US president Bill Clinton has strongly responded to the release of new photographs linked to the Jeffrey Epstein case, accusing the government of deliberately attempting to make him a scapegoat.

In a statement issued by Clinton’s spokesperson on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the former president rejected the implications surrounding the photos and said the move was aimed at diverting attention rather than uncovering the truth.

The statement argued that releasing “20-year-old and unclear photographs” does not address the real issues at the center of the Epstein case. “This case was never about Bill Clinton and never will be,” the spokesperson said, emphasizing that the focus should remain on those directly responsible.

Clinton’s spokesperson also referenced comments attributed to Suzy Wiles, a close associate of U.S. President Donald Trump, claiming she has acknowledged that Trump has used false statements regarding Clinton. According to the statement, such remarks demonstrate that facts are being distorted for political purposes.

Meanwhile, Bill Clinton’s representative, Angel Orena, addressed photos reportedly taken in an underground bathtub that have been cited in connection with Epstein. Orena said there are two distinct groups of people associated with Epstein: those who were unaware of his crimes and cut ties before the truth became public, and those who continued their association despite knowing the allegations. “We are in the first group,” Orena said.

He added that attempts to delay proceedings or twist the narrative would not change the facts.

According to Clinton’s spokesperson, key questions surrounding the Epstein case remain unanswered, and the release of old photographs cannot distract from the need for accountability and clarity.
