Earthquake jolts parts of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD:  The federal capital and its surrounding areas were rattled by a an earthquake on Thursday, apart from other parts of Pakistan including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The quake’s epicentre is yet to be defined by USGS and Pakistan’s met department. The tremors, although moderate, sparked concern among residents in the twin cities.

This recent event follows a series of earthquakes that have impacted various parts of the country in recent months.

Just yesterday, USGS reported a moderate earthquake originating in northern Afghanistan.

Prior to that, on March 5, a significant earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 struck near Iran, and its effects were felt in Pakistan.
