Charlie Puth has been confirmed as the national anthem performer for the 2026 Super Bowl, joining the line-up of major artists set to take the stage ahead of the NFL’s biggest night.
The NFL announced that Puth will open Super Bowl LX’s pre-game entertainment on 8 February 2026 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. His performance will lead into the half-time show headlined by Bad Bunny.
Puth will be joined by Grammy winner Brandi Carlile, who will perform America the Beautiful, while R&B singer and former Disney star Coco Jones will deliver Lift Every Voice and Sing as part of the pre-game programme.
In a statement, Jon Barker, the NFL’s senior vice president of global event production, said the league was proud to showcase artists who represent “the very best of music and culture”. Jay Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation is programming the event, with CEO Desiree Perez adding that Charlie, Brandi and Coco are “generational talents” who embody the spirit of the Super Bowl stage.
The news follows recent clarification from Puth on social media after rumours suggested he had auditioned for the Wickedfilms. The singer wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “I never auditioned for Wicked. I would be so bad lol,” responding to a circulating list of alleged auditionees. The list also included Jennifer Lopez, Shawn Mendes, Renee Rapp, Katy Perry, Harry Styles, Amanda Seyfried, Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, Dove Cameron, Lea Michele and Jessie J.
