Chaos in Indian hotel as rat shows up during Australian women’s cricket team meal

VISAKHAPATNAM: An unexpected visitor caused a stir at a hotel in Visakhapatnam, India, when a rat appeared during the Australian women’s cricket team’s meal, prompting players to scramble in surprise.

The incident occurred while the team, in India for the Women’s Cricket World Cup, was dining at the hotel. Players reportedly jumped onto chairs and ran around the dining area after spotting the rat. Hotel staff rushed to capture the rodent, but it continued to scurry around, adding to the chaos.

Cricket Australia later released a video showing players recalling the episode. According to them, they had just finished dinner and were about to leave when the rat appeared. Players said it vanished briefly only to reappear, prompting screams and panic.

The incident has raised questions about the cleanliness standards of the hotel and sparked social media discussions about the experience of international teams in Indian accommodations.
