Bushra Bibi given spicy food causing mouth sores, says lawyer

ISLAMABAD: Naeem Haider Panjutha, the lawyer of former prime minister Imran Khan, has claimed that Bushra Bibi was given spicy food on the first day after her detention which upset her stomach.

Speaking to the media in Bani Gala, where Bushra Bibi is detained after her conviction in the Toshakhana case, Panjutha said that the meeting with the Bushra Bibi lasted about half-an-hour.

According to him, on the first day, the Bushra Bibi was fasting and she was served food containing chili peppers, which upset her stomach. He said that when she woke up in the morning, she had sores in her throat, which prevented her from having breakfast.

He said that someone’s life is the most important matter, and a petition was filed in the high court which has not been entertained.

He said that the machine provided for checking the Bushra Bibi’s blood pressure was not working and when they demanded to shift her to Adiala jail, excuses of space and security concerns are being made.

Naeem Panjutha said that the life of the Bushra Bibi is in serious danger, and the high court has also expressed reservations on the medical report.
