Beyoncé joins the billionaire club and here’s how she compares to music’s richest stars

Beyoncé has officially become a billionaire, according to Forbes, placing her among a small group of musicians to reach the milestone through music, touring and business ventures.

The singer is now the fifth musician confirmed to have achieved billionaire status, joining her husband Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and Bruce Springsteen.

Beyoncé’s rise has been driven largely by the scale of her recent tours and her control over her creative output. Her 2023 Renaissance World Tour grossed more than $500 million, while her Cowboy Carter Tour in 2024 generated over $400 million, making it the highest-grossing country tour in history, according to Pollstar.

More than the Eras Tour?

While Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour remains the highest-grossing tour of all time, surpassing $1 billion, Beyoncé’s touring success stands out for its efficiency and genre-spanning appeal. Unlike Swift’s multi-year run, Beyoncé achieved her billionaire status through a combination of fewer but higher-impact tours, film releases and ownership stakes.

Her concert film Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé topped the US box office on its opening weekend in December 2023, earning $21 million. In 2024, she released Cowboy Carter, a genre-shifting country album that went on to win album of the year at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she collected three trophies.

Beyond touring and music sales, Forbes highlighted Beyoncé’s business structure as central to her wealth. She founded Parkwood Entertainment in 2010, a company that produces her music, films and live shows in-house, allowing her to retain creative control and a larger share of profits.

Beyoncé’s billionaire status places her in a rare category within the music industry, reflecting not only commercial success but long-term ownership and strategic control, a model increasingly shaping the modern pop economy.
