AJK Rathore

WEB DESK: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, has emphasised that the government’s recent policies reflect a responsible and accountable approach to governance, prioritising public welfare and practical delivery over mere announcements. Speaking at a press briefing, Rathore said that state policies are not only about decision-making but also about timely implementation, rapid assistance to affected communities, and ensuring citizens’ access to essential services. The government has taken consecutive measures in health, education, employment, electricity, water, transport, and urban infrastructure, demonstrating a clear commitment to improving the daily lives of the people.

The prime minister highlighted that the government has provided financial compensation and employment opportunities to families affected by tragic incidents in October 2025, reaffirming that protection of ordinary citizens is central to state policy. He said the administration has also ensured that citizens have uninterrupted access to basic facilities, including health, education, electricity, water, and transport services, showing that governance is driven by results rather than political narratives.

Rathore noted that reforms have extended across multiple sectors, including infrastructure development, administrative restructuring, and social welfare programmes. Roads have been realigned and reconstructed, water supply and electricity projects have been implemented, and healthcare facilities upgraded with modern equipment. Educational reforms, including merit-based admissions and legal amendments for new boards, have been prioritised, while cellular internet access, wheat supply, and urban sanitation systems have been improved to match federal standards.

He further pointed out that administrative reforms have streamlined governance, reducing the cabinet size and merging departments to ensure efficiency, while anti-corruption measures have been strengthened through legislative alignment with national accountability frameworks. The prime minister also stressed that monitoring mechanisms have been established to ensure transparency and proper implementation of projects.

Concluding his remarks, Rathore said these steps reflect a commitment to social stability, practical service delivery, and fostering trust between the state and its citizens. By focusing on timely assistance, infrastructure development, and citizen-centric policy-making, the AJK government aims to ensure that the people’s welfare remains at the heart of every decision.
