Asad Umar’s interim bail extended in cypher case

ISLAMABAD: A special court on Tuesday extended the interim bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI’s) leader Asad Umar in the cypher case.

The interim bail petition of the former federal minister was brought before Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain during an in-camera proceeding. Accompanied by his legal counsel, Babar Awan, the accused made a court appearance during the proceedings.

The court extended the pre-arrest bail of Asad Umar and stopped the FIA from arresting him till September 14.

Separately, The Ministry of Law has issued a notification to set up a special court in Attock jail for the proceedings against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman in the cypher case.

The judge hearing the cyber case against the PTI chairman will conduct the proceedings in Attock jail on Wednesday (tomorrow). Judge Abu al-Hasanat Zulqarnain will hear the case in Attock jail.
