Apple cuts jobs in sales team, encourages staff to apply for new roles

Apple job cuts

Apple has confirmed recent job cuts in its sales division, saying the move is aimed at improving efficiency.

The company, known for rarely cutting staff, said affected employees are encouraged to apply for other positions within the company.

A spokesperson for the Cupertino-based tech giant told Bloomberg that while some roles were eliminated, Apple continues to hire in other areas.

“We are making changes in our sales team that affect a small number of roles,” the statement said. “Those employees can apply for new roles.”

The news follows reports on professional networking platforms of Apple employees announcing they had been let go. Some former staff suggested that the company is increasingly relying on third-party resellers to handle its sales operations.

Apple’s layoffs remain relatively uncommon, but the company reduced hundreds of positions last year, largely following the cancellation of its ambitious car project.

While some cuts hit the Services division, most targeted other internal teams.
