Amy Schumer is speaking openly about her marriage to chef Chris Fischer, sharing a candid update after weeks of speculation about their relationship.
The comedian, 44, posted an Instagram Reel on 1 December while discussing her recent health journey. Within the caption, she addressed ongoing rumours around her personal life. “Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” she wrote. “Fingers crossed we make it through. He is the best.”
Schumer and Fischer, who married in 2018 and share a six-year-old son, Gene David, have faced persistent split rumours over the past month. On 6 November, Schumer responded with a short Instagram Story stating that the couple were “still married”. Days later, reports suggested the pair were privately working through normal issues that long-term partners face, and remained committed to the relationship.
In her latest update, Schumer also addressed scrutiny surrounding her appearance following her 50-pound weight loss, which she has linked to treatment for Cushing syndrome. She wrote that she has been transparent about using medication and having cosmetic procedures. “Sorry for whatever feeling it is giving you that I lost that weight,” she added. “I am pain-free.”
The comedian recently cleared a number of older posts from her Instagram page, a move she described as spontaneous rather than symbolic. She has continued to share lighthearted moments featuring her son, including a playful recent photo of Gene jumping into frame as she prepared for a night out.
Schumer and Fischer first began dating in late 2017 before marrying in February 2018. She spoke publicly about Fischer being on the autism spectrum in her 2019 Netflix special Amy Schumer: Growing, describing the diagnosis with affection and humour. Earlier this year, she marked their seventh anniversary with a playful post referencing their prenuptial agreement.
