Pak Vs Ban U-19

DUBAI: The second semi-final of the ACC Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 between Bangladesh and Pakistan has been delayed, with both teams waiting to take the field at the ICC Academy Ground as conditions are assessed.

The high-stakes encounter will decide who advances to the final, where India are set to face Sri Lanka in the other semi-final. Bangladesh entered the knockout stage in commanding form, finishing top of Group B with three wins from three matches, while Pakistan booked their place after ending second in Group A, having suffered their only defeat against India.

Bangladesh, two-time defending champions after lifting the title in 2023 and 2024, will rely on their well-settled combination. Openers Zawad Abrar and Rifat Beg have provided solid starts throughout the tournament, while skipper Azizul Hakim Tamim has been the backbone of the batting line-up. Middle-order contributions from Kalam Aleen and Rizan Hossain add stability, while the pace attack, led by Iqbal Hossain Emon and Saad Razin, has delivered timely breakthroughs.

Pakistan, champions in 2012, have shown strong momentum heading into the semi-final and are seen as slight favourites. Usman Khan and Sameer Minhas have been among the runs at the top of the order, with Shahzaib Khan anchoring the innings at number three. Captain Farhan Yousaf, along with Saad Baig, strengthens the middle order, while the bowling unit, spearheaded by pacers Ali Raza and Abdul Subhan, has been one of the most effective in the competition. Sameer Minhas has also provided a useful spin option.

With no previous Under-19 ODI meetings between the two sides, the contest promises to be evenly matched once play gets underway. Bangladesh will look to continue their disciplined, team-oriented approach, while Pakistan aim to carry forward their strong form as both sides chase a place in the final.

Match officials are expected to announce a revised start time once conditions improve.
